Pay attention my love, 'cause its over,
At the tip of my tongue is the price you weren't willing to pay .....
Still this is something akin to a breakdown.

When you look back now, was it special
Or was it nothing but an anecdote that you can tell now and then .....
And I delude myself it was worth it
Even though from the beginning I could see exactly how it would end!

That there'd be torn up photos and lonely nights...
Cursing, crying and d r a w n  o u t fights -
Make up sex and a brand new start.
Broken promises for broken hearts .....

I wanna wish you away..... I wanna wish you away

I wanna kiss you away.

I'm posting here because everyone else has basically abandoned it.

That's all right, because I like the way it hurts. )

I'm sure everyone on here already knows, since we're in contact by other means - but just in case.

We have no internet at home, so I'm not likely to be on at all for... awhile. The cable company is unwilling to work with me due to circumstances out of my control, and their own piss poor customer service job - telling me they would, and then later insisting that it wasn't possible and there's no record on my account of who told me they would.

Considering it's also my birthday, all I'm asking anyone for is cash in order to get the bill paid in a reasonable amount of time. Before they shut us off for good.

I will probably check in on my cell phone from time to time, but overall don't be surprised if you don't see me for awhile.

Need to get back into practicing, so I'm planning to make a master list of things to draw.

Although my list is mainly in pokemon and anime characters, I'm open to other suggestions.

POKEMON LIST:

Eevee - Gen. 1
Vulpix - Gen. 1

CHARACTER LIST:

Fruits Basket - Kyo Sohma
Fullmetal Alchemist - Edward Elric
chainofhabit: (Default)
All right, I'm making myself a to-do list of manga, books, and anime I want to get into.

Please feel free to suggest anything else you think I might enjoy (or just want EVERYONE EVER involved in, whatever.)

I will take any of the following:

Books
manga
anime
comic books (i.e. DC, Marvel etc.)
musicians or bands to give a listen to

If you would like to suggest other TV shows or movies that's fine too, but my focus is on the above. Also in regards to movies, chances are if it came out before 2010 and I wanted to see it, I did... obviously there are exceptions to that, but. You know, Blockbuster employee.

ANYWAY, the list: )

Fishlore post 3.17 )

About to do another water change, wanted to keep track of my numbers.

ammonia: 0 - .25 (looks like 0 to me)
nitrite: about .5
nitrate: 20 - 40 (I would say leaning towards 40)

My pH remains entirely unreadable, I'm not sure if I should open another thread about this.

API Liquid Freshwater Master test kit.

pH - bright clear blue (7.6 or higher)
HIGH RANGE pH - obvious clear 7.4 (or lower)

Something is off about this... It's been going on for awhile. The first time I ran the test it was bright blue so I did the high range instead, 8.4 - 8.8. Bright purple. Off the charts high pH. Every time I've done the tests since then I've tested both regular and high just to be safe. After it came down (gradually, 8.2, 8.0, 7.4) it's stuck on this mixed reading.

One test says over 7.6 and the other says under 7.4

10 gallon:

ammonia: .25
nitrites: 0
nitrates: 80+

pH: 8.0 - 8.2 (closer to 8.0)

Added conditioner to the 10 gallon yesterday so I didn't take tests or do a water change. The suggestion was to do 50 every day but I'm going to skip the 29 today (it's too late anyway) and hopefully get the 10 down at least 20%. Then add conditioner.

Fish in transit Needham (next town over) by 8:10 am.

The sand still hasn't settled, not sure how soon that's going to happen. Trying not to get nervous about feeling rushed because of it. I'm anticipating an ammonia spike after adding the fish, because there are so many, but my thinking (hoping) is that TSS is supposed to work with a fully stocked tank, so with the bacteria as a buffer there would hopefully be minimal issue.

If they were in Needham an hour ago, I'm really tempted to check the porch right now... but I'm trying to be patient and not jump the gun. They should be all right outside for a little bit anyway, since they have the heating packs and they're cold water fish.
chainofhabit: (thoughtful)
Starting early today, I'll just edit this post later when doing the water tests.

For starters: filled both of the 2 gallon bottles with tap water and added conditioner.
That should give them about 24 hours to do what they need to do before the arrival of white clouds.

Put some fresh cleaner in Little Guy's tank. Fed both tanks since I'll have to starve them Wednesday and Thursday.

Need to get to the store and grab some:

Java moss < -- didn't carry
extra long net < -- didn't carry
suction cups for aquarium decorations < -- forgot to check
More TSS to add tomorrow < -- didn't carry
Birthday cake for Orion!

Edit: Didn't get to Petco and the other store didn't have pretty much anything I needed. Got 3 pounds of bacteria activated sand to stand in for the extra TSS. Added two bags to the 29 gallon and have one bag aside to add to the 10 gallon tomorrow when I get the white clouds. So much planning. /Edit

Both tanks were getting closer to the 1 - 1.5 they're supposed to be while the TSS works (you're supposed to wait at least 48 hours for those results and they should last 10-12 [or 7-14] days). Considering how the test have been moving I think we'll be there tonight - which is good, right about on time.

1 male blue and red veiltail betta
5 black neon tetras (who will be moved)

Tried some baby carrot for the pleco since that was recommended. Hasn't seemed to notice it yet.

Added 2 pounds of "live sand", assuming it didn't freeze in the car during the movie.....
Filled betta bowl with gravel from 10 gallon tank and added to 29 gallon. Hopefully that didn't reset my cycle.

Ammonia reading: Looks like an even .5

10 gallon

1 small assorted anubias
1 PVC pipe

10 pounds of gravel, added 10 pounds of sand
Will add 1 lb of "live" sand tomorrow, which hopefully hasn't died.

Aqueon QueitFlow 10 filter
flourescent lighting
2 strip external thermometers on glass of aquarium

Ammonia reading: It started out looking like .5, but now it looks more between .5 - 1.0

Not having my camera is making it difficult to get a decent read on the picture... stupid webcam.

And just for laughs, Little Guy's tank:

Ammonia Reading: .25, maybe .5

Not bothering to use an ammonia block since it's such a low level and tomorrow he is probably going back in the 10 gallon to finish this cycle. If the water level or sand is too high to risk putting in that tank then I will definitely neutralize the ammonia in the betta bowl for him another day.

Tomorrow I'll close up those bottles of water too.

Edit: because my date/time on this one got messed up.

Noticed some aggression, chasing and possible biting between the betta and pleco. Betta is definitely trying to lay claim to the algae wafers (he's not a very good meat eater apparently) and seems to think all the hiding places belong to him in the tank. However, despite his bullying attitude and how alarming it was - the pleco's vicious chase was more concerning.

Sanguine's fins were growing back, so now I'm trying to monitor whether they seem to be getting better or worse. Unfortunately it's not a very good indicator of violence in the tank considering they're living in ammonia and that contributes. Going with the rule of thumb that if I notice the red disappear completely I'm rehoming him to the 10 gallon. Hopefully it will be safe to transfer him before (if) that happens.

Ammonia reading: Between .5 - 1.0 ?

10 gallon

1 small assorted anubias
1 PVC pipe

15 pounds of gravel

Aqueon QueitFlow 10 filter

Ammonia reading: little unsure about this one, looks like between 1 - 2 I think. In some light looks like 2 - 4. Either way it's definitely going down and that's a good thing.

I removed the betta, put him in the betta bowl with his rock and water from the 29g so that I know he's at least in less than toxic conditions. One more day in the bowl for the little guy, i'm not going to bother to check his water but I'll had some conditioner to make it safer for him to stay in for now.

Also added two gallons of water to each tank that have been sitting for a few days. Hopefully that'll bring things down a bit without ruin the progress. I ordered more Tetrasafestart I plan to to add when it arrives that should hopefully make the transition easier too.

My new fish should be arriving on Wednesday, hopefully everything will be safe to add fish to by then.
